Blue Tide has the perfect practice group for your swimmer, no matter their age or ability. Read more about the criteria for each group and practice times and locations below. *Coaches may adjust practice times as needed.
Tidal Wave
Age: 10 & Under
-Knowledge of 4 strokes and legal in at least 2 strokes
-Coaches discretion of training
Typical Practice Location and Time:
K-Park 4:30-5:15, M-F

Orange
Age: 10 & Under
-Legal in all 4 strokes

Red
Age: 10 & Under
-Must know all four strokes

BTA Pool 5:30-7:00 PM (5:30-5:45 dryland), M-F
Equipment: Kickboard, fins, indoor/outdoor reflective goggles, water bottle
Bronze
Age: 10 & Under
-Must have a "B" Time
-Must maintain at least 80% attendance
-Must know all four strokes
-Coaches discretion of training

BTA Pool 1:30-3:00, Sat
Equipment: kickboard, fins, pull buoy, paddles, snorkel.
White
Age: 11-14 years old & coaches discretion of training.
Description: Developing swimmers to achieve the best in the pool and strive for higher standards. Instilling essential skills and progressing through the BTA program
Typical Practice Location and Time:
KHS 5:30- 7:00 PM (Dryland 6:45-7:00), M-F
Equipment: Kickboard, pull buoy, paddles, fins, snorkel(preferred), spare goggles and caps.
Silver
Age: 11-14 years old
-Must have a "BB" time
-Must maintain at least 80% attendance
-Coaches discretion of training
Typical Practice Location and Time:
KHS 5:30-7:30 PM(Dryland5:30-5:45) M-F
BTA Pool 12-1:45, Sat
Equipment: Kickboard, fins, pull buoy, paddles, snorkel, mesh bag, water bottle.
Gold
Age: 11-14 years old
-Must have an "A" time
-Must maintain at least 80% attendance
-Coaches discretion of training

K-Park 5:40-8:00 PM (5:40-6:00 Dryland), M-F
BTA Pool 10-12, Sat
Equipment: Fins(short and long), kickboard, paddles, pull buoy, water bottle, snorkel, temp trianer(preferred)
National 1
-Must be going into or in High School
-Must have a sectional time or bonus cut
-Must maintain 85% attendance
-Coaches discretion of training
When an athletes desire and talent combine to put them at the Sectionals level, the athlete is eligible for BTAs National 1 group. This training program strives for athletic and personal excellence in and out of the water. Successful athletes in the National 1 group will have a full commitment to BTA, maintain a growth mindset, be highly competitive, very coachable, and live a championship lifestyle. The goal of this group is to maximize every athletes ability and score at a National level. National 1 will train primarily at the BTA pool. Athletes will train in the water two hours a day and do dry-land at BTA 45 minutes a day six days a week.

National 2
Age: 14 & older
-Must be in High School

Blue Tide Aquatics National 2 group is designed to help high school level athletes reach their goals. Athletes want to compete in USA Swimming and potentially balance this desire with outside interests. That said, training at this level is based on athletes attending six practices a week, year-round. Athletes will train primarily out of Kingwood High School, will do so in the water one hour and forty-five minutes a day and do dry-land for 30-40 minutes a day.

National 3
Age: 14 & older
-Must be in High School

The National 3 group is designed primarily for high school JV swimmers. This group has no attendance requirement and training will be somewhat more general to accommodate the varying interests and abilities within the group. This group will train later in the evening at Kingwood High School (to allow JV athletes to rest between training sessions) for one hour and forty-five minutes and do dryland for 30 minutes everyday.
