Important things to remember when registering:

When mailing in registration form, include a $20 per child registration fee by check. Checks should be made payable to Blue Tide Aquatics and should include childs name on check. Registration fees will be reimbursed if you refer another swimmer to the program.  We will either send you a check for $20 or deduct it from the next session's fees.

Be sure to include how many times per week is desired for your swimmer. The youngest age we will teach is 2 1/2 years old.

To determine correct level, go to General Information page and review the levels. Use these criteria to best classify your swimmer. Please note out to side if this was the previous summer or if student has been in another swimming program.

If your swimmer is under age five and has not swum since last summer, some regression is expected. To better determine actual level, keep in mind that until age five or six, if student is out of water for as many months as they are old (i.e., 2 months for a two year old, etc.), they will tend to forget their “balance” in the water. If between age two and three, children are also going through a developmental stage of experiencing fear and this may influence their relationship with the water.

We only offer semi-private (2 swimmers per instructor) lessons.

To determine group or semi-private, keep this in mind: We strongly recommend semiprivate for children ages four and under. If group is preferred for this age group. We will schedule a group if three students are signed up. Otherwise, you can be placed on a group waiting list.

Semiprivate is also recommended for older children that are beginners, and those that need to learn new strokes in a hurry (i.e., a seven year old beginning swim team in May).

Group is recommended for all students that can already swim and beginners age five or older. Group classes are small (4:1 ratio) and the camaraderie of the group usually helps students to advance quicker.

Getting assigned to a specific class: When registration is received, students will be scheduled on a first come basis. Specific class times will be confirmed by telephone one to two weeks before session begins. Be sure to include your other possibilities in scheduling, in case your first choice is not available. Try to give us several days to choose from if this is your preferred schedule.
