Ciliske swam his 200 Freestyle in 1:42.45 at State meet to earn a new JR National
qualifying time.
Former
Humble High School standout George Gooch most recently broke the BTA team record
with a time of 1:54.08 in the 200 Fly at the Conference USA Championship.
Eric
Olesen wins 100 back with new National qualifying time at 49.82
Kevin
Leckey swims 1:55.04 in his 200 I.M. at state meet to pick up new Jr National
time.
Benjamin
Decker recently broke the 13-14 Men's National Age Group record in the 100 yard
Breaststroke swimming a time of 56.60. The record was previously held by former
NCAA standout John Moffet at 57.01, which was set back in 1979.
The Kingwood Mustangs scored 274.5 points out swimming second-place Austin
Westlake by 56 points. Junior Eric Olesen led the way for the mustangs with
four medals. The Kingwood men's 200 free relay (1:25.58) edged the Woodland's(1:26.28
) to secure the victory for the state title. Matt Campbell said, " It's
an amazing feeling. This is what we've been dreaming about since September.
It's one of the best things I've ever experienced." Blue Tide would like
to congratulate all swimmers from both the Humble & Kingwood teams on
a great season of hard work and dedication. This is an outstanding team achievement
in the sport of swimming. Congratulations again to our 2005 State Champions.
