A special thanks goes to our Fabulous BTA chaperones!

Deb Haase for chaperoning and organizing the whole trip. Without her we wouldn't have had the trip.
Rob Scheuer for chaperoning, looking after all the food, and helping Deb with all the details.
John Hazle, Janelle Scheuer, Melissa Sturgis, Yanli Lu for chaperoning.
Grandpa Donald Ishakawa for flying in from California and helping out on Sat and Sun.
The Conroy's for driving Patrick Pash and Janelle back from the hospital on Thursday.
Coach Kevin & Coach Emily for all their time and effort

The summer travel trip was a resounding success with plenty of fun in the sun and great races in the pool. Blue Tide had a fabulous weekend filled with best times and high point winners. The team won the meet by over 200 points. Congratulations go out to Grant Hazle, Blair Fose, Madeline Hazle, Lisa Swank and Jordan Jones for their high point awards. 40 swimmers took part in the bus trip to South Padre Island which included lots of team-building activities. Early morning training on the beach was followed by body surfing in the Gulf of Mexico, shopping with Coach Emily (the shopping Queen), sight-seeing trips, team dinners at fun restaurants and more. There were so many memorable moments - seeing how the team pulled together to help each other out, cheering on swimmers to encourage them as they finished a race, enjoying a great Italian dinner and clapping along with the accordion player, catching some sun on the boat trip as we watched the dolphins play, spending a day at Schlitterbahn South Padre and having a private sand castle building lesson from Amazing Walter (recently featured in Texas Monthly). This sand castle wizard mesmerized even the oldest kids with techniques to make cobblestones and bricks for your castle--with nothing but a toothpick and a straw. Even Oprah had Amazing Walter flown in for her own private lesson. It was awesome! Many of these memories were made possible by the Vitarius Foundation and we are grateful for their support.
