Kevin- Spring Champs finished and we did well-winning the meet. TAGS, Sectionals and Junior Nationals are coming up. TAGS is in Dallas and we have some new younger swimmers qualified for TAGS-a very exciting time for them. Also have 5 junior national qualifiers.

It was suggested that Head Coach Kevin call the new TAGS qualifiers to congratulate them on their achievement.

Summer travel trip just went out. Resend to people again to remind them of the deadlines.

There will be a mandatory pre-TAGS meeting on March 5th to review things-especially good for new families.

Russell- Chamber of Commerce “Lifters and Leaders” lunch coming up March 5th. This is a good chance to talk about BTA.

Rick- BTA merchandise to be on display at Swim Shops. T-shirts, car decals, caps and polos. Rick, Kevin and Mike to coordinate with Angela.

Team suit- sponsor contract up for renewal. We’ll know in July whether it’s Speedo, Nike or TYR.  TYR is the most reasonable price.

John H – have annual meeting in the fall and combine with an orientation and parent mixer. Maybe at the end of September? Parents would then have 3 weeks experience to come up with questions. Do we need to change the by-laws with this change in the annual meeting?

John and Russell will check details as to what Board members are up for election. Also need to check the terms of the positions and decide what will happen.

Bill- Karie will give Bill a copy of the proof of insurance from USA swimming.  P&L looks bad for January due to no home meet income and we had to run the ACC heater at a cost of $2,000. Heat sheet expenses were $700.

Karie- 2 new members, Kennedy Teel and Cassidy Brice.

John S – Bill Conroy has agreed to be the meet referee at the next meet. June 8 & 9 are dates for summer champs. Frank Frey will be out of town but will have pre-meet stuff taken care of.

Place for summer champs meet still not confirmed with KHS.

We are in the process of bidding on the short course meet schedule for us to host the meets. Oct. 18&19 for the 10 and under meet, Nov. 22& 23 for the 11-14 open and back-up meet on Jan. 9-11 for the 11 and up open.

Rob -Survey highlights-review at our leisure and we’ll meet in 2 weeks to go over results.

Russell will go through the comments on the survey and send them to Rob for emailing to the membership.

Board members were assigned people to contact from the survey to discuss their comments.

All is going well at the high schools. Brian Z. is using ACC during spring break for lifeguard training.

Swim clinic camps are being promoted in the Observer, Tribune and with flyers in schools and library shelves.  Thanks to Ann Wehrman, Linda Dalton, Melissa Sturgis and many other volunteers who helped distribute the flyers.

Let’s start a bi-monthly newsletter online with a swimmer’s corner-interview the kids. Coach Emily could do this with her background.

Molly Summers has “resigned” her position as volunteer travel coordinator. Lynn Jones has been asked to consider the job.

Coach Duin will meet with Rob to discuss pool and coaching issues.

We will look at a graduated/tiered payment for families with multiple swimmers.

Bullying and intimidation has become an issue within some of the age groups. This will not be tolerated. A process will be put in place. After hearing of such behavior, a meeting will take place between the parties involved, some members of the board and parents. If it continues, the swimmer will be removed from the team.

Melissa-Where do the foundation funds get allocated in our budget? If a foundation restricts funds, do we honor this?
